We’re excited to announce the latest software updates for MachineMotion v3.1.0. This release exposes support for updating motor firmware, the TCP Socket API, and MachineCloud Deployment over LAN, as well as the UR7 and UR12 robot models.
Additionally, the release exposes support for new code free instructions for Remote View recordings.
🛠️ Full Release Notes
General
MachineCloud LAN Deployment: Users can now use MachineCloud to deploy from vention.io configuration, scene assets and MachineLogic applications, when their laptop is connected to the MachineMotion’s “To PC” port. Necessary certificates will be renewed when the MachineMotion is connected to the Internet, or to MachineCloud.
Ability to connect multiple MachineMotions on the same safety network, thanks to disabling the Ethernet communication on the safety OUT port.
Ability to connect to Wifi networks with special characters.
Configuration:
Added ability to assign tuning profiles by name: default position, velocity, and torque modes
Introduced support for creating and assigning custom tuning profiles
Added compatibility for UR7 and UR12 robot models
Control Center
Added ability to lock the Teach Pendant in App Launcher mode to restrict access to operator.
Network page now flags unsupported networks based on incompatible security protocols.
Introduced rollback support, including down-patching the configuration. User configuration data will be preserved as the user updates or rolls back to older MachineMotion software versions.
Scene Assets page: If a robot is configured, “Scene Assets” will become an option in the Control Center navigation dropdown. It will allow to view and edit all global-level Scene Assets (not Application-level) scene assets.
MachineLogic - Python Programming
You can now reference Scene Assets (named robot targets and paths) defined in the 3D MachineLogic environment, directly in your Python code. This enables more visual, intuitive, and reliable robot programming without needing to manually input coordinates.
Firmware
Ability to update the motor firmware from the MachineMotion AI. This feature is available via the firmware endpoints accessible with the help of the Customer Success team. The release comes pre-loaded with the FB0VK and FB0VL motor firmware releases. Subsequent releases can be installed by uploading files to the MMAI.
The TCP Socket API plugin has been made available with this release.
Motor Over-the-Air Updates: the drive close loop setup file has been updated, to use “direct start”. This can help resolve some over-current issues seen on small size motors. This new setup file will be applied to any motor being updated by a MachineMotion.
Remove View Recording
New RemoteView Recording. This new feature will enable users to replay footage from their RemoteView camera for up to 7 days. Users can access it via the Analytics menu in their Vention dashboard. It also requires the user to have their RemoteView camera connected to the MachineMotion controller AI and the controller connected to the internet.
